NORTH CRAWFORD - The North Crawford boys track team finished well at the conference championships despite low numbers.
The Trojans finished in third place as a team with 96 points. Kickapoo/ La Farge won the meet with 184 points followed by Wauzeka-Steuben with 120. Seneca was fourth with 74 followed by Ithaca-Weston with 42 and DeSoto with 28.

Looking good for the Trojans was freshman Stephen Munson. He finished in third place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.17, third in the 200-meter dash with 24.83. He then went to the jumps and ended up in fourth place in the long jump with a leap of 18’2.75” and he took second palce in the triple jump with a jump of 29’6.75” (CB).


Also doing well was the 4x400-meter relay team who won the event with a season best time of 3:57.87. The team included Brent Jelinek, Clayton Herfel, Taylor Peery and Joaquin Perez.
Jelinek also did well in the pole vault by jumping a career high jump of 11’0”, good enough for third place. He then went on to finish in fourth place in the 400-meter dash in a time of 58.00. Finishing just ahead of him was teammate Taylor Peery who ran a career best time of 57.35. Peery also ended up in third place in the high jump with a leap of 5’8”.

“All of the boys performed well today,” Coach Mike Allbaugh stated after the meet. “If we had a few more athletes, we could have finished a bit higher. However, to finish in third place with only nine athletes that is a huge accomplishment.”
