Wauzeka-Steuben defeats Seneca 5-3

SENECA-WAUZEKA-STEUBEN - The Seneca baseball team watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 5-3 loss to Wauzeka-Steuben on Friday. 

Wauzeka-Steuben scored on an error and a single by Jonah Reichmann in the second inning.

The Hornets pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second, an error scored one run for Wauzeka-Steuben and Reichmann singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Cater Lomas was credited with the victory for Wauzeka-Steuben. He lasted six innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out ten. Garret Kapinus threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Jared Payne took the loss for Seneca. He allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out four.

The Indians racked up five hits in the game. Ashton Swanson and Matt Hall each had multiple hits for Seneca. Hall and Swanson each managed two hits to lead Seneca Indians Varsity.

Wauzeka-Steuben totaled seven hits in the game. Reichmann and Sam Groom all managed multiple hits for Wauzeka-Steuben. Wauzeka-Steuben was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Kapinus made the most plays with ten.
